Tips for Homeowners During Summer Months

Air Conditioning tune up-It is important to maintain your air conditioner to prevent future problems and unwanted costs. Keep your heating and cooling system at peak performance by having one of our Safety Certified Technicians do an annual tune-up. All manufacturers recommend annual maintenance and care by a licensed HVAC contractor. During an A-TEMP 21-Point Precision Tune-Up we will record measurements and observations, as well as, identify and recommend any corrective action(s) needed to maintain the system’s ability to efficiently provide clean, conditioned air to your home for its normal expected lifetime.

Roof check- Your roof should be inspected annually to ensure that you don’t have any problems. Checking your roof regularly will assist in finding a small problem before it becomes a large, leaky one.

Window check- Ensure that the hot summer heat stays outside by checking and maintaining your home’s windows. One of the key items in window maintenance is routinely checking the sealants. Ensure that both inside and out are secured, check weather-stripping for any leaks and replace it. Taking care of windows will keep your home looking and feeling good.

Water-Take water with you everywhere whether you’re running errands or running laps, dehydration is a serious problem. One should plan on drinking at least two liters of water a day if you are inside. If you are outside you should drink an additional one to two liters per hour. Make sure your kids and pets are drinking enough, too.

Protection-While dehydration is a problem in the heat, protection from the sun is also important in the summer. Wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing, sunglasses and hats, as well as applying sunscreen, will protect you and your skin from the sun’s harsh rays.
