Refrigerator Coils
Refrigerator coils should be cleaned annually, or more often if you have pets or for a dusty location such as a garage. Buildup on the coils prevents the refrigerator from releasing heat, which makes your appliance less efficient and reduces its life. The process is easy, but make sure to follow safety guidelines.
Dishwasher
Dishwashers can get loaded down with grease over time, which can cause dishes not getting clean, standing water, or odors. You can buy dishwasher cleaners in the dishwasher soap aisle, or you can do an inexpensive alternative. First, place a small bowl full of white vinegar in the top rack and run a hot cycle. Next, sprinkle a handful of baking soda in the bottom of the dishwasher and run another hot cycle. Vinegar helps break down mineral deposits and removes grime, while baking soda helps with odors. It's also a good time to wipe down the interior with vinegar, especially the seals.
Bathroom Exhaust Fan
Bathroom exhaust fans help draw out moisture, and a dirty fan is less efficient, which can cause mold or mildew to develop. First, gently pull down on the fan cover, then squeeze the mounting wires to completely remove the cover. Clean the cover with warm, soapy water, letting it soak for a few minutes. While it's removed, you can wipe down any visible dust in the vent housing. Let the cover air dry before replacing it.
Ducts
