GAS FURNACE REPAIR

A-TEMP HEATING & COOLING, INC.® has been performing gas furnace repair in the Portland Metro Area for over 40 years. Our HVAC technicians are experienced in all aspects of gas furnace repair. Most people do not pay attention to their furnace until it stops working. Gas furnaces are reliable and efficient source of heating for your house. Gas furnaces use fan-driven forced-air distribution systems to blow warmed air throughout the house via the air ducts. Depending on the gas furnace that you have and how old it is there are many things that could potentially go wrong. Some of the problems could be handled with simple maintenance; however others should be handled by a professional.

  • No Heat - If there is no heat coming out of your gas furnace then it could be a burned fuse or tripped breaker.
  • Not Enough Heat - If it seems that not enough heat is getting circulated through the house it could be that the burner air shutter needs to be adjusted or the burner ports need to be cleaned.
  • Pilot Won’t Light or Stay Lit - If the pilot will not light or will not stay lit then it could be that the thermocouple might be faulty.
  • Other Pilot Light Problems - If the Pilot light is flickering, making an exploding noise when the burner lights or taking more than a few seconds to ignite it could be that the pilot light needs to be adjusted and pilot orifice needs to be cleaned.
  • Funny Noises - If the gas furnace is making a funny rubbing noise when the burners are off then most likely the burners need to be cleaned and the air shutters adjusted.
